Digitalization. Simply delivered.
Join us at DHL Group Digital Platforms department, where innovation thrives and technology evolves. With a presence across three countries and two continents, we are building a One Stop Shop for all DHL Group APIs and AI-enabled services. Our startup spirit within a stable enterprise environment enables us to deliver secure, scalable, and modern platforms powered by Agile and DevSecOps practices.
About the Project.
Be part of a strategic initiative to build DHL’s AI Gateway Platform, where Google Apigee X acts as the central control layer enabling secure and governed access to AI services powered by Model Context Protocol (MCP).
This platform provides
- A single entry point for applications and clients to consume AI services
- Secure integration with MCP servers responsible for AI orchestration
- Centralized security, governance, and traffic management via Apigee
In this role, you will not only build and operate the gateway layer, but also work closely with business units to translate AI use cases into scalable and secure API solutions.

- Solid understanding of API gateway architecture, traffic management, and governance models
- Experience with API-first design and RESTful services
- Ability to engage with stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Familiarity with cloud environments and distributed systems
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills to work with both technical teams and business stakeholders
Nice to have
- Understanding of MCP and AI/LLM integration patterns
- Experience with AI security controls and tools such as Model Armor
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and high-scale API platforms
