Overview:

ICU/Critical Care Registered Nurse - Southeastern 2 Market Regional Resource Pool (SAMC, SPAH, & SVBGH).

This is a self-scheduling flexi/prn position.

Flexi/PRN Night Shift: The team member must enter at least 72 hours pre-scheduled time per 6-week period (12 hrs/wk) in API.

Offers Premium Differential Pay, Flexible Self-Scheduling. 

Requires a minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience in specialty applying for. Requires nurses to work in all units for which they are qualified and a minimum of two different units.

  • Must reside within 90 minutes of all 3 hospitals in the Southeastern 2 Market:

  • Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, NC - Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA - Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Education

  • Registered Nurse Diploma (Required)

Certification/Licensure

  • Registered Nurse License (Required)

  • All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire. 

Experience

  • Requires a minimum of 2 years (most recent experience) as RN in acute care setting.

  • Available to work 12 hours per week FLEXI status, a minimum of 72 hours per 6-weeks; of which 12 hours are scheduled on a weekend shift and 12 hours off-shift requirement per 6-weeks.
