Azure DevOps Engineer

About You

You are a Azure DevOps Engineer passionate about building scalable, secure, and highly automated cloud platforms. You enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges, optimizing cloud environments, and enabling development teams to deliver software efficiently through modern DevOps practices.

You bring a strong cloud engineering mindset and hands-on experience designing, automating, and managing Azure-based platforms. You are comfortable working across infrastructure, security, networking, CI/CD, observability, and platform operations, while continuously driving improvements in reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.

You thrive in collaborative Agile environments where ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement are highly valued. You enjoy working closely with engineering teams to create secure, resilient, and maintainable cloud solutions that support business growth and technology modernization initiatives.

You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and infrastructure automation tools.
• Advanced knowledge of Azure services, including AKS, Networking, Managed Identities, Key Vault, App Services, Cosmos DB, Cognitive Search, and Azure OpenAI.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Expertise in CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and related toolchains.
• Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM), including Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Okta.
• Proficiency in Linux administration and scripting with Bash, PowerShell, and Python.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog and Azure Application Insights.
• Knowledge of application and database deployments using React.js, Python, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.
• Ability to work effectively in Agile environments, adapt to changing priorities, and proactively drive improvements.
• Azure, Terraform, or related cloud certifications are desired.

You will be accountable for the following responsibilities:

• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and infrastructure automation best practices.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and connectivity issues across Azure environments.
• Support application teams with deployments, platform operations, and environment management activities.
• Manage and enhance containerized workloads running on AKS and Kubernetes.
• Implement secure identity, access, and secrets management solutions.
• Monitor platform performance, reliability, and availability using observability and monitoring tools.
• Automate operational processes through scripting, reusable workflows, and infrastructure automation.
• Collaborate within Agile teams, balancing priorities while delivering secure and scalable solutions.
• Identify, propose, and implement platform improvements that increase reliability, security, scalability, and operational efficiency.

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering.
• Strong experience with Azure cloud services and Terraform.
• Experience with AKS, Kubernetes, and containerized workloads.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and cloud security best practices.
