Job description

Here, you will have the freedom to grow in a world of opportunity

We are seeking a BIM Manager to support international transportation projects

This role requires a strong background in transportation design using Bentley applications (e.g. OpenRoads, OpenRail). The successful candidate will not be a pure administrator, but an information manager embedded in design delivery, with the ability to understand how engineering data is structured, produced, and exchanged within the Bentley ecosystem.

You will be responsible for establishing and operating ProjectWise-based Common Data Environments (CDEs), while ensuring that configuration, governance, and standards align directly with transportation design workflows.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • ProjectWise CDE Delivery & Administration
    • Configure, administer, and maintain Bentley ProjectWise environments for multi-office, multi-discipline transportation programs.
    • Establish and manage project structures, folder schemas, metadata and attributes, workflows, transmittals, permissions and document lifecycles.
    • Manage integrations between ProjectWise and Bentley design tools, ensuring alignment with design delivery requirements.
    • Monitor system performance, resolve issues and coordinate with IT and platform teams to address technical challenges.
    • Develop repeatable templates and automation approaches to improve onboarding and reduce manual setup.
  • Bentley Design & Workspace Management
    • Configure and manage ProjectWise-driven workspaces/worksets to ensure consistent standards across projects and geographies.
    • Support and optimize environments for OpenRoads Designer and OpenRail Designer.
    • Manage DGN structures, references, model hierarchies, and discipline outputs.
    • Align ProjectWise and workspace configurations with transportation design requirements, including civil alignments, corridors, terrain models and rail design data.
    • Ensure correct deployment of levels, cells, templates, and discipline standards.
    • Troubleshoot cross-platform issues between ProjectWise, design applications and workspace configurations.
    • Collaborate with standards and automation teams to enhance workspace deployment strategies, template consistency and scalable project setups.
  • Stakeholder & Supply Chain Coordination
    • Act as the primary point of contact for ProjectWise and information management processes for internal teams and external partners.
    • Support onboarding of project teams and supply chain partners, including access control, training and user guidance.
    • Engage with clients on CDE configuration, compliance, reporting and information delivery requirements.
  • Training & Enablement
    • Deliver training and practical guidance tailored to design teams using Bentley tools.
    • Develop and maintain user guides, onboarding materials and best‑practice documentation.
  • Information Management & BIM Governance
    • Lead information management implementation in alignment with BIM execution plans (BEPs), project information requirements and client standards.
    • Enforce naming conventions, revision control, status/suitability coding and auditability requirements.

o   Ensure quality and consistency across models, drawings and structured design data.

o   Define and implement quality checks for metadata completeness, workflow adherence and deliverable readiness.

  • Reporting, KPIs & Continuous Improvement
    • Produce reports covering workflow compliance, deliverable status, audit logs and usage metrics.
    • Identify opportunities for process optimization and standardization.
    • Capture lessons learned and contribute to the continuous improvement of organizational templates and processes.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Proven experience within transportation design environments using Bentley applications, specifically OpenRoads Designer and/or OpenRail Designer.
    • Strong understanding of design data structures and workflows within Bentley ecosystems, with hands‑on experience in workspace configuration, standards deployment and environment setup.
    • Demonstrable experience managing ProjectWise environments and managed workspaces/worksets.
    • Strong hands-on capability in managing folder structures, workflows, permissions, transmittals, and audit controls, with experience supporting design delivery workflows, including model progression, approvals and coordinated outputs.
    • Ability to translate engineering requirements into effective CDE and workspace configurations, and ability to bridge design production requirements and information management governance.
    • Experience managing environments supporting model-based and drawing-based deliverables within transportation projects.
    • Track record delivering ProjectWise solutions on large infrastructure or transportation programmes in multi-discipline, multi-office environments.
    • Experience in transportation infrastructure, including highways, rail, bridges, tunnels or other complex linear assets.
    • Knowledge of ISO 19650 principles and terminology.
    • Familiarity with Bentley tools such as iTwin, SYNCHRO, MicroStation or OpenBridge, Bentley Infrastructure Cloud, Bentley 365, ProjectWise Explorer, ProjectWise Drive and experience with Power BI reporting, automation or digital delivery optimisation.
    • Strong communication skills and experience working across distributed, international teams; fluent professional proficiency in English; Polish and/or Spanish language skills beneficial but not required.

    Professional Qualifications and Experience

    • Degree in Civil Engineering, Design Technology or Construction Technology, or a related discipline project execution or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience.
    • 7+ years of industry experience in the BIM and Digital Delivery field. Must have previous formal multidisciplinary BIM Manager/Coordinator role experience.
