Ambiscale
PHP Developer
Salary
Job description
Hi! We’re ambiscale.
We solve real business challenges by building tailored web solutions: WordPress, eCommerce, Cyber Security, DevOps, Data & AI services, and custom systems.
We work with clients across Poland, Europe, and the US, including Żabka, Biedronka, Brand24, and the University of California (Berkeley), as well as supporting non-profit organizations (Pokonaj Chłoniaka, Fundacja Katarynka).
We’re looking for a PHP Developer who will help us with
- designing, developing, and scaling highly available enterprise web applications and API-first architectures,
- ensuring the highest standards of performance, security (OWASP Top 10), and code quality through rigorous code reviews and static analysis,
- profiling and optimizing applications to handle significant traffic and data loads (e.g. using Blackfire, New Relic),
- integrating complex third-party systems, payment gateways, and external APIs,
- working closely with Project Managers, Front-end Developers, DevOps, and QA to deliver tailored, technology-agnostic solutions that best fit the client's business needs,
- actively monitoring technology trends (2026 PHP landscape) and proactively recommending architectural improvements.
You’ll fit right in if you have
- minimum 5 years of commercial experience in a similar Backend/PHP position,
- deep understanding of modern PHP (8.2+) and strict typing,
- strong, hands-on experience with the Symfony framework,
- solid grasp of software architecture patterns (SOLID, Design Patterns, Clean Architecture, and basics of DDD/CQRS),
- knowledge of caching mechanisms and in-memory data stores (e.g. Redis, Memcached),
- experience in asynchronous processing, message brokers, and queues (e.g. RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Symfony Messenger),
- proficiency in version control (Git) and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitLab CI, GitHub Actions),
- commitment to code quality, supported by experience with testing frameworks (PHPUnit, Behat, or Pest) and static analysis tools (PHPStan/Psalm at strict levels),
- experience in building and consuming secure RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs,
- advanced problem-solving skills, with a focus on troubleshooting, profiling, and resolving bottlenecks in high-traffic applications,
- ability to communicate fluently in English and Polish (at least B2).
Bonus points for any of the following
- knowledge of Sulu CMS,
- knowledge of other common PHP frameworks (Laravel, Zend/Laminas),
- full-stack capabilities: commercial experience with modern frontend ecosystems (React/Next.js or Vue/Nuxt.js),
- familiarity with modern, high-performance PHP runtimes (e.g. FrankenPHP, Swoole, RoadRunner),
- experience in deploying and managing applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure),
- experience with Headless CMS / Composable Commerce architectures and integrations.
What we offer
- real impact on how projects are built, not just delivered,
- space to experiment with AI and automation in your daily work,
- diverse, non-trivial projects,
- close collaboration with experienced developers,
- access to AI, SEO, and data specialists within our tech hub,
- flexible working hours,
- modern, pet-friendly office in central Wrocław,
- Apple or Windows equipment,
- salary: 12–18k PLN/month (B2B), depending on experience.

- Intro meeting with Tech Lead (1h)
- Technical interview (2h)
- Final conversation + offer (30 min)
