Build your career and Australia’s future.
Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.
A fantastic opportunity has presented itself for a Senior Manager Content and Channels reporting to General Manager Media and External Communications.
A bit about your role
As the Senior Manager, Content and Channels, you will lead a connected and creative function that brings together content strategy, storytelling and organic social media into one cohesive capability.
You will shape how nbn communicates with the world, translating complex business, technical and policy priorities into content that is clear, engaging and grounded in purpose. In doing so, you will help foster understanding, build trust and strengthen nbn’s reputation across the communities it serves.
You will provide editorial leadership and creative direction, guiding the development of an integrated content strategy that supports both enterprise narratives and go‑to‑market activity.
Through your stewardship of nbn’s owned channels, particularly social media, you will create meaningful opportunities for connection, ensuring content is thoughtful, responsive and aligned to broader communications priorities. Your work will bring together planning, storytelling and channel delivery in a way that feels consistent, purposeful and easy to navigate.
You will ensure content is not only compelling and audience-led, but also responsive, culturally relevant and optimised for each platform, drawing on deep expertise across key platforms such as Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube and emerging channels.
Bringing strong expertise in social media platforms and ecosystems, you will embed a data-led and insight-driven approach across content and channels, leveraging performance analytics, social listening tools and platform capabilities (e.g. Meta Business Suite, Brandwatch and native analytics tools) to continuously refine strategy, optimise outcomes and inform broader communications decisions. You will ensure strong integration between organic and paid social activity, driving alignment in messaging, targeting and performance to maximise both reach and reputational impact.
Leading a multidisciplinary team, you will nurture a culture of collaboration, curiosity and craft, ensuring content is delivered to a high standard while maintaining pace and flexibility. You will also work closely with Corporate Affairs, Brand, Customer and Digital teams to create a seamless, integrated communication ecosystem, where narratives are aligned and content flows naturally across channels. In doing so, you will help create clarity and cohesion across the organisation, enabling teams to connect more effectively with their audiences.
A bit about you
You are a thoughtful and collaborative leader with a passion for storytelling and a deep appreciation for the role content plays in building connection and trust. With significant experience across content, social media or corporate communications, you bring strong editorial judgement and the ability to translate complex ideas into accessible and engaging narratives. You are comfortable leading across disciplines and enjoy bringing people together around a shared purpose and direction.
Your approach is both creative and grounded, combining strategic thinking with a practical focus on delivery. You are confident navigating a dynamic environment, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining care and attention to quality. You understand how content and channels work together to shape reputation and engagement, and you bring a considered, insight-led perspective to how platforms can be used in meaningful and effective ways.
You lead with empathy and clarity, creating an environment where ideas are welcomed and collaboration feels natural. With your inclusive mindset and genuine care for both people and outcomes, you enable those around you to do their best work. In doing so, you help foster a strong, connected team that consistently delivers content that reflects nbn’s purpose and supports its long-term impact.
