Who are we looking for?
We are looking for Head of Partnership Distribution to drive and grow the Banca channel, delivering sustainable results in sales, profitability, and partnership value by building strong bank relationships and ensuring consistent execution at the branch level. This role will bridge strategic partnership alignment with on-ground delivery, ensuring the banca channel performs in line with business expectations.
What are we expecting from this role?
1. Strategy, Planning & Partnership Direction
Develop and execute banca strategies and business plans aligned with overall company goals
Shape and manage strategic partnerships with banks, ensuring alignment on targets, priorities, and expectations
Drive joint planning with partners, including sales targets, campaigns, and growth initiatives
Continuously review market trends and competitor activity to proactively adjust partnership strategy
2. Banca Sales Ownership & Field Execution
Own end-to-end banca sales performance, including production, case size, and quality of business
Translate strategy into clear and actionable execution plans across branches and bank teams
Maintain a strong on-ground understanding of branch operations, staff behaviour, and customer flow
Ensure consistent tracking, follow-up, and execution discipline across all partner branches
Drive corrective actions for underperformance in collaboration with internal teams and bank stakeholders
3. Partnership Management & Stakeholder Influence
Build and maintain strong working relationships with bank senior management and branch networks
Influence bank partners to prioritise insurance alongside core banking KPIs
Proactively manage alignment challenges, particularly where bank priorities may conflict with insurance objectives
Represent PMLI professionally, ensuring long-term trust, credibility, and partnership sustainability
4. Campaigns, Commercial Initiatives & Growth
Design and execute joint banca campaigns and initiatives to drive sales and productivity
Ensure campaigns are practical, aligned with branch behaviour, and effectively executed at the branch level
Closely monitor campaign performance and make timely adjustments to maximise results
Balance growth objectives with cost discipline to ensure sustainable profitability
5. Team Leadership & Capability Building
Lead, coach, and develop the banca team to drive strong execution and effective stakeholder management
Build team capability in sales execution, negotiation, and partnership management
Ensure the team operates with a proactive, accountable, and commercially driven mindset—not just coordination-focused
6. Operational Excellence & Governance
Ensure strong coordination between sales, operations, and partner teams
Strengthen process discipline, controls, and reporting accuracy within the banca channel
Leverage data and dashboards to monitor performance and support effective decision-making
Ensure timely and accurate execution of financial commitments and partner agreements
7. Digital & Business Enablement
Drive digital adoption within banca, including onboarding, lead generation, and tracking tools
Improve efficiency and turnaround time across the sales process and policy issuance
8. Risk Management & Compliance
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and partnership agreements
Identify and manage risks across banca operations, partner interactions, and incentive structures
Maintain strong governance to protect business integrity and partner confidence
Who is the right fit for this role?
Minimum 12–15 years of experience in insurance, banking, or financial services, with strong exposure to bancassurance or partnership distribution
Proven track record of driving banca sales performance (production, case size, productivity, and profitability)
Minimum 7–10 years in senior leadership roles, managing banca teams or strategic bank partnerships
Strong experience in building and managing strategic partnerships, including engagement with senior stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into execution at the branch level with strong discipline in tracking and follow-up
Deep understanding of bancassurance business models, branch operations, and customer flow dynamics
Fluent in English and Burmese, both written and spoken
