What are we looking for?
We are looking for a Head of Agency to lead and drive the Agency channel, delivering sustainable growth in sales, market share, and profitability while building a strong, disciplined, and high-performing agency force.
The role will also ensure that strategy is effectively translated into consistent field execution, with strong ownership, clear accountability, and operational discipline.
What are we expecting from this role?
1. Strategy, Planning & Business Direction
Develop and execute clear agency strategies and business plans aligned with company priorities
Translate strategy into practical execution plans with clear targets, structure, and timelines
Regularly review market trends and performance data to proactively adjust direction
Identify and drive new growth opportunities across geographies, segments, and distribution models
2. Agency Sales Ownership & Field Execution
Own end-to-end agency performance, including sales, productivity, recruitment, and persistency
Drive strong execution discipline across the field with clear tracking rhythms and follow-up
Stay close to the ground to understand field challenges, agent behaviour, and sales dynamics
Ensure business decisions are based on real field insights, not only reports
Lead turnaround actions for underperforming teams with clear accountability and measurable outcomes
3. Recruitment & Agency Structure Development
Drive a structured recruitment strategy to build a sustainable pipeline of agents and leaders
Ensure the agency structure is aligned with the target model (AUD / AAUD / AUM / Agent layers)
Maintain a strong focus on quality recruitment and activation, not just volume
Strengthen the leadership bench and succession pipeline within the agency
4. Capability Building & Leadership Development
Ensure structured onboarding, training, and continuous development of agents and leaders
Build strong leadership capability across BDM and agency leadership levels
Coach and develop leaders to effectively manage teams, rather than operate as individual contributors
5. Leadership, Culture & Discipline
Lead and role model a performance-driven, transparent, and accountable culture
Establish clear expectations and consistently enforce discipline across the channel
Address behavior and performance gaps early and directly
Recognize and reward high performers to reinforce desired behaviors
6. Operational Excellence & Governance
Ensure strong coordination between sales, operations, and support functions
Drive SOP adherence, process discipline, and consistent reporting standards
Implement structured performance reviews and data-driven decision-making
Strengthen the control environment and reduce execution gaps across the channel
7. Digital & Productivity Enablement
Leverage digital tools, dashboards, and reporting systems to improve productivity and transparency
Drive adoption of digital tools in the field for lead generation, tracking, and conversion
8. Risk Management & Compliance
Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies
Proactively identify and manage risks affecting the agency channel
Maintain the integrity, professionalism, and reputation of the agency force
Who are we looking for?
Minimum 10–15 years of experience in insurance or financial services, with strong exposure to agency distribution
Proven track record of delivering agency sales performance (APE growth, productivity, recruitment, persistency)
Minimum 7–10 years in senior leadership roles, managing large, multi-level agency or sales teams
Strong experience in agency recruitment, structure building, and leadership development (e.g., AUM / unit structure)
Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into field execution with clear accountability and discipline
Deep understanding of the agency business model, sales dynamics, and field challenges
Strong leadership capability with a performance-driven, results-oriented mindset, and the ability to drive change and turnaround performance
Fluent in English and Burmese, both written and spoken
