New Business Banca Underwriting Manager

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage Initial Banca Underwriting team, who are responsible for delivering:

• Checking completeness and validity documents according to the SOP
• Analyze magnum evidence code and put in follow up screen at Life Asia.
• Analyze the answers given in form major alteration and revival process

including non-disclose cases, appeal policy.

• Analyze magnum evidence code and put in follo w up screen at Life Asia
• Analyze any amendments and other documents (including medical, legal and financial documents) that receive during the process major alterations/revival.
• Give summary & final decision related medical/financial documents as profile of insured referring to appropriate reinsurer guideline.
• Give final decision to insured: standard, substandard, postpone, decline refer to underwriting authority limit.
• Refer to authorize leader if the cases being processed exceeds the underwriter’s authority limit.
• Analyze and check administrative as well as medical requirements

Contribute to continuous improvement within the underwriting team.

• Contribute constructive ideas for overall underwriting improvements
• Coaching other team members to ensure competency and knowledge upgrade

                    among other members are achieved

• Give input to the effectiveness of the underwriting progress

Ensure smooth communication with other departments

• Conduct regular meetings with Banca Channel
• In difficult cases where problems are unsolved by team, ensure quick and justifiable solution is given
• Ensure customer orientation is the basis for every approach

Liaise with Legal & Compliance to report suspicious transactions that are found in doing daily process.

Personal development:

• Attend/pass minimum 1 courses/ exams from LOMA modules or courses in risk management
• Attend internal and external training for related modules to widen knowledge.

• Coach and ensure team members attend/passes trainings/exams required.
• Create honest, supportive, open and competitive environment in team by having sufficient communication with team members
• Monitoring process within team, ensuring distribution, SLA, KPI, error rate is manageable and in line with company target.

• Ensure procedure in leave days is proper
