About the role
As the National Channel Marketing Manager – General Trade, you will be responsible for shaping and driving the end-to-end General Trade (GT) strategy across India, enabling sustainable growth and market leadership for our portfolio of consumer healthcare brands. This role sits at the intersection of sales, customer marketing, and category strategy, ensuring strong execution excellence across regions and channels.
You will lead the development and deployment of channel strategies, optimize trade investments, and strengthen retailer partnerships to enhance reach, visibility, and conversion at the point of sale. The role requires close collaboration with sales teams, category marketing, supply chain, and finance to deliver against business objectives, including revenue growth, market share expansion, and profitability.
Role Responsibilities
Design & Own General Trade Customer Marketing Strategy
Team Manager responsibility for Channel Program Manager and POSM Manager
Own periodic communication / content to region teams
Own end to end process of managing
Trade Spend Management
Retailer & Channel loyalty Enabling & Supporting Field force effectiveness
Drive on ground & in store activations Work with category teams on AOP, NPI launches, periodic reviews
Work with alternate channels to address & capture new demand opportunities
Work with expert marketing team to ensure sufficiency of funding for the entire pharmaceutical value chain
Be a part of the overall forecasting process
Drive time bound projects from time to time
Basic Qualifications:
Master’s degree (or equivalent)
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA from a Tier 1 business school
Progressive experience of 8-10 years in Indian FMCG landscape
Necessarily including at least one full tenure role as an Area sales manager Followed by most recent experience in the domain of Trade / Customer / Shopper marketing
Regional / Channel / Category customer marketing experience in the current role is most desired
