Responsibilities Brasfield & Gorrie is seeking students interested in internship and cooperative education opportunities within our Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) group for the Fall 2026 semester (August 18th-December 11th). This role provides hands-on experience supporting the coordination, quality, commissioning, and management of MEP systems on large Mission-critical, healthcare, industrial, and commercial construction projects. Our goal is to expose students to real-world construction operations while developing future leaders in construction management and engineering. Interns will work alongside experienced project managers, superintendents, MEP managers, QA/QC leaders, and commissioning professionals throughout all phases of construction. Students working within the MEP group will assist project teams in coordinating MEP installations, tracking progress, supporting quality initiatives, participating in commissioning activities, and contributing to project planning and field operations. Construction Coordination & Field Operations Gain an understanding of how mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, medical gas, and low-voltage systems contribute to the construction process Assist with coordination of MEP subcontractors throughout construction, startup, commissioning, and turnover activities Support field management teams with project logistics, work planning, and installation sequencing Participate in jobsite walks and assist with tracking installation progress and quality Support project teams in maintaining safe and organized work areas while upholding project safety standards Coordinate activities, material deliveries, and field support with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors Construction Services- Collaboration Collaborate with QA/QC, commissioning, and operations personnel to support installation verification activities, quality tracking, system startup efforts, and project turnover requirements for MEP systems, while gaining exposure to mission critical commissioning processes and operational readiness activities. Assist project teams with planning, scheduling, and documentation efforts by tracking schedule updates, reviewing project information, preparing progress reports and field documentation, and participating in owner, subcontractor, and coordination meetings. Coordinate with BIM / VDC and other project stakeholders to support 3D coordination and modeling efforts, help identify potential system conflicts prior to installation, and contribute to cross-functional planning for MEP installations. Office locations may include: Atlanta, GA Birmingham, AL Work may be located on a jobsite or visit construction jobsites frequently.
