We are seeking an experienced Tech Lead to design and deliver scalable backend solutions while leading a small development team in Toronto, Canada. The role requires close collaboration with the Enterprise Architect (EA) and Business Stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust, high-performance systems aligned with enterprise architecture standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Enterprise Architects and Business Stakeholders to define and deliver technical solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications, APIs, and microservices.
• Lead technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and technology decisions.
• Provide hands-on development, code reviews, and mentorship to development team members.
• Drive engineering best practices, code quality, security, and performance standards.
• Support Agile delivery, sprint planning, estimation, and project execution.
• Ensure successful deployment and operation of cloud-based solutions.

Requirements

• 7–13 years of software development experience with strong backend engineering expertise.
• Proven experience as a Tech Lead or Senior Developer leading small teams.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, .NET Core, Node.js, Python, or similar backend technologies.
• Solid understanding of system design, microservices, APIs, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and DevOps practices.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Enterprise Architecture teams in large organizations.
• Knowledge of cloud-native and event-driven architectures.
• Relevant cloud or architecture certifications are an asset.
