Expected pay for this position is $21.72 - $25.55/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.
Overview
The scope of this Coordinator’s role is within the specialty areas of the Peoria market namely, the OSF Illinois Neurological Institute (INI), Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) and Children's Hospital of Illinois (CHOI) outpatient departments. Locations are subject to growth and business needs. In this role the coordinator performs and assists registrars with answering phones, pre-registration, reminder phone calls, onsite registration and collaboration with the clinical team caring for patients with complex care needs. Cross-training in INI/CHOI/CVI offices is required, to assist with coverage, as needed.
Travel will be common between offsite and specialty locations within the Peoria market area .
POSITION SUMMARY
The Patient Access Coordinator will serve as a dedicated escalation point for multiple functional areas and determine the appropriate outside resources that are required to support escalation. This position has a significant understanding of the revenue cycle and the importance of evaluating and securing all appropriate financial resources for patients to maximize reimbursement to the Health System.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School/GED.
Other Licenses/Certifications: Required to complete all role specific revenue cycle training and certification within 12 months.
Experience: 1 year of direct experience in a revenue cycle or medical setting.
Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Enrolled or completed course work in a healthcare related field through an accredited college or university.
Experience: 2 years in an office clerical setting or customer service environment.
Licensure/Certifications: HFMA CRCR certification.
Other skills/knowledge: Advanced knowledge of CPT4, ICD9/10, HCPCS, and modifiers. Knowledge of medical terminology.
