Overview
Supervises and coordinates activities of staff engaged in computer operations and system maintenance.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Ensures effective computer resources are provided to users.
- Assigns personnel and schedules workflow to facilitate computer system performance and technician response times.
- Analyzes performance indicators such as number of transactions per second, response time, and number of programs being processed to ensure system is operating efficiently.
- Studies problems and capabilities, and develops solutions for improved system performance.
- Oversight of the management/configuration of the E&DI Cisco Network Switches and Routers (SentelKG).
- Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems administration.
- Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware. Troubleshoot network problems quickly and effectively to minimize system downtime.
- Track and maintain hardware/ software inventory and Network Map of Network Assets.
- Ensure network components meet needs and work together seamlessly. Research and evaluate emerging technologies and competitive solutions related to IT.
- Liaise with Vectrus corporate IT when needed.
- Train employees on both software and hardware, troubleshoot, and provide technical support when needed.
- Responsible for the upkeep of assigned PPE, tools, equipment, vehicles etc. and is liable to turn in for scheduled maintenance or when identified faulty.
- Responsible for updating work orders using either a tablet, computer and/or handwritten on paper workorder. Updates included changing the work order status, inputting a log, requesting material and time performance.
- Performs general housekeeping when working on site.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
- May be required to work weekends, holidays, early and late shifts.
Qualifications
Qualifications: Education
- High School Diploma or equivalate
- Associate degree in IT, computer science or related field
- CompTIA certificate Experience:
- 2 years’ experience in a leadership role preferred
- Proficiency in networking, server administration, operating systems, and security tools
- Training staff members on systems, tools and company procedures Skills:
- Strong communication and leadership skills to manage teams and coordinate with multiple levels and management and the customer.
- Must speck, read and write English, including providing and receiving direction in English.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities Work Environment:
- Office environment
- Protected from environment changes, may not be from temperature changes
- May be exposed to noise
- Seating for long periods of time up to 5-6 hours per day
- May be required to visit work sites
