The Logistician I (Junior) provides logistics and material management support for NAVAIR PMA-281programs, with primary responsibility for inventory control, asset accountability, material processing, and warehouse operations. This role supports lifecycle logistics activities, ensuring the accurate handling, tracking, shipment, receipt, storage, and disposition of government materials while maintaining compliance with applicable security and transportation requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform Packaging, Handling, Storage and Transportation (PHS&T) activities
- Prepare shipment documentation for classified and unclassified material
- Process material shipments and receipts
- Maintain and update material tracking databases
- Conduct physical inventory and location audits
- Process excess and obsolete material for disposition/offload
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform material identification activities.
- Support NAVAIR material and asset management processes.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Material & Equipment Directly Used
- Computer workstations.
- Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.
- Relational database applications used for product and inventory management.
- Forklifts and other approved material handling equipment following certification requirements.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate degree and two (2) years of defense lifecycle logistics experience; OR
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) may be substituted for logistics experience; OR Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
Experience
- Experience supporting government logistics operations.
- Experience with inventory management, asset accountability, document control, and material tracking processes.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and lifecycle logistics support activities.
Skills
- Working knowledge of logistics, inventory control, and asset management principles.
- Ability to accurately prepare and maintain shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to create, revise, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to learn and utilize relational database applications and lifecycle management tools.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Security Clearance Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance.
