We are looking for a Lead Hand Licensed Diesel Mechanics, for our Markham dealership located at 8240 Woodbine Ave, Markham, ON. This is a full-time permanent position for our afternoon shift..
As Lead Hand Technician, reporting to the Service Manager your main responsibilities will be providing both technical and administrative support, spot-checking repairs to assure quality and timely completion, and reviewing work orders for accuracy. We are looking to fill our afternoon shift.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations, as well as the Company’s Health and Safety Policy.
- Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment
- Read job order, observe and listen to vehicle in operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures.
- Perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
- Document work performed.
- Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
- Examine protective guards, loose bolts and specified safety devices on trucks and make adjustments as needed.
- Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty.
- Attend training classes and keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Other duties may be assigned
Basic Qualifications
- Licensed or Registered Apprentice (310T)
- Good communication skills and work attitude
- Quality Driven
- SAP experience is an asset
- Valid Driver's License and a good driving record
- Criminal Record Check
- Driver's Abstract
- AZ/DZ License is an asset
