Job Description Summary

The Weld Engineer provides manufacturing engineering support for weld and braze operations, with safety, quality, delivery, and cost as core priorities. This role is responsible for administering weld and braze programs, including annual assessments, refresher training, welder certifications, machine qualifications, weld schedule qualifications, documentation control, part qualification records, and support of NADCAP compliance requirements. The role also supports production, material discrepancy investigations, continuous improvement initiatives, cost-out projects, and new product/process implementation while exercising sound technical judgment and appropriate independence in day-to-day execution.

Job Description

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Own and administer the weld and braze programs, including development, qualification, control, and continuous improvement of weld/braze processes, parameters, weld joint variables, and critical process controls.
  • Administer operator program requirements, including annual weld and braze assessments, annual refresher training, and issuance and maintenance of welder certifications in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Perform and document machine qualifications, weld schedule qualifications, and part qualification records to support process and product validation.
  • Develop, review, release, and maintain Manufacturing Engineering Procedures, work instructions, and related controlled documentation.
  • Provide technical support for welding/brazing equipment, tooling, operators, and compliance activities, including process audits, NADCAP requirements, and adherence to internal, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead troubleshooting and structured problem-solving for weld/braze-related production and quality issues, including support for material discrepancy reports and technical investigations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and cost-out opportunities in partnership with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering.
  • Support new product introduction and transition from development into production.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in weld engineering or manufacturing experience) + Minimum of 3 years of weld engineering or manufacturing experience

Desired Characteristics & Experience

  • Degree in Welding Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Experience administering a weld and/or braze program, including operator qualification/certification, annual assessments, refresher training, machine qualifications, weld schedule qualifications, and part qualifications.
  • Familiarity with weld joint inspection requirements and non-destructive testing methods, and NADCAP requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and implement solutions using a structured problem-solving approach.

The base pay range for this position is $87,000 to $116,000 per year. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on June 19th, 2026.
