Job description
GDMS‑C is seeking an Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Engineering Analyst who will apply engineering principles to the sustainment of existing products and to the development of new systems. The analyst will serve as the subject‑matter expert for maintenance planning, technical documentation, and logistics data for complex electronic, electromechanical and mechanical equipment. Working side‑by‑side with design engineers, program managers, and customers, you will ensure that supportability is built into the product from concept through end‑of‑life.
Key Responsibilities
- Review engineering drawings, electrical schematics, system architecture models, design specifications and vendor manuals to extract support requirements
- Provide engineering feedback early in the concept and design phases to improve maintainability, reliability and life‑cycle cost
- Perform Logistic Support Analyses (LSA) including Reliability‑Centred Maintenance Analysis (RCMA), Level‑of‑Repair Analysis (LORA), Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), sparing analysis, life‑cycle‑cost (LCC) analysis and provisioning support for both legacy and new‑product initiatives
- Create detailed preventive and corrective‑maintenance procedures, test instructions, inspection guides and troubleshooting instructions for complex military or commercial systems
- Engineer packaging, handling, storage and transportation solutions that satisfy environmental, safety and cost constraints
- Determine the tools, test equipment, consumables, personnel and facilities required to execute the maintenance tasks you define
- Create and maintain Logistics Product Data records in an LSAR database in compliance with GEIA‑STD‑0007 / MIL‑STD‑1388‑2B
- Prepare and deliver formal briefings to customers, program leadership and cross‑functional teams on ILS strategies, methodology and support‑system designs
- Offer maintenance‑subject‑matter‑expert guidance to engineering, test and sustainment teams, ensuring that design decisions align with supportability goals
- Evaluate ILS components of bid proposals, quantify life‑cycle‑cost impacts and make engineering recommendations that strengthen new‑business pursuits.
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Aerospace or related), Applied Science or another STEM discipline from an accredited institution
- Two to seven years of experience applying engineering analysis to product sustainment, including maintenance and repair of complex electromechanical/electronic equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical data packages
- Experience developing maintenance narratives, fault‑analysis reports or technical manuals
Preferred qualifications
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation or in the process of obtaining it
- Familiarity with AI/machine-learning models
- Working knowledge of authoring tools such as Madcap Flare or the EAGLE Publishing System
- Familiarity with logistics‑data tools (e.g., EAGLE LPD) and demand‑forecasting methods (e.g., cumulative Poisson model)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of maintenance practices, technical documentation and typical support‑system infrastructure requirements
- Knowledge of industry‑standard ILS techniques and engineering lifecycle processes
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently or within a collaborative team environment
