The Technician II (Clonal) assembles, clones, and purifies genes according to given specifications in preparation for final shipment to customers. This includes a variety of PCR methods and PCR Clean-up, bacterial transformation, colony selection, purification of genetic material, QC sampling, quantification and final shipment preparation.
This position reports to the Weekend Supervisor in the Fast Turn Blocks and Clonal Products Value Stream located in Coralville, Iowa and will be an on-site role at the 2600 location. Shift : Friday-Sunday, 10:00am-10:30pm, Weekend Second Shift
In this role, you will have the opportunity to
•
Purify and quantify products and samples for quality control tests.
•
Assess QC data accurately to route and process products to meet outlined specifications.
•
Perform a variety of PCR protocols and subsequent post PCR cleanup steps.
The essential requirements of the job include
•
Minimum associate degree in a science-related field (biology, chemistry, etc.) and relevant experience of at least 2 years. Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field preferred.
•
Proficiency with pipetting and aseptic technique.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
•
PCR protocols and gel electrophoresis technology.
•
Sequencing data or QC analysis.
