About the Role
The Senior Sales Manager – Household is a strategic leadership role within the Branch Banking function of Retail Banking . This role is responsible for managing and scaling the retail branch banking business across the assigned region. The incumbent will drive the acquisition of Household/ Savings customers, expand the branch footprint, increase product penetration, and ensure the delivery of high-quality customer service. The role also carries P&L accountability and contributes to the broader objectives of the branch banking channel.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of branch officers across the assigned command area of branches.
- Identify and acquire potential customers for asset products, generating fee-based revenue.
- Monitor daily sales calls to ensure adherence to the acquisition process and adequate market coverage.
- Drive activation of household/ savings clients and ensure achievement of float targets.
- Impart and refresh product knowledge among team members to maintain up-to-date awareness.
- Ensure timely resolution of customer queries and service requests.
- Maintain optimal staffing levels for the household/ savings account acquisition team across the region.
- Manage customer-centric operations and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by meeting service quality standards.
- Evaluate growth strategies based on competitor analysis and feedback from various channels.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance service efficiency and quality across the branch network.
- Monitor execution of business plans and ensure alignment with defined growth targets.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Support cross-functional collaboration to enhance customer experience and business outcomes.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives and central programs aimed at driving regional performance.
What We Are Looking For
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- Postgraduate qualifications (e.g., MBA) are preferred.
Experience
- Proven experience in retail banking, with a strong background in sales and team management.
- Prior experience in managing regional or multi-branch operations is desirable.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to drive business growth and profitability.
- Deep understanding of banking products, especially Current Accounts and asset products.
- High level of customer orientation and service delivery focus.
