Key Responsibilities
•
Strategic Oversight & Compliance: Lead the strategic and compliance-driven tax agenda for Brazil, overseeing direct tax, indirect tax, and transfer pricing activities.
•
Regulatory Advocacy & Advisory: Act as a proactive business partner by monitoring legislative shifts and engaging with professional organizations and government bodies to align UCB’s operations with patient value principles.
•
Risk Management & Audits: Maintain robust relationships with tax authorities, manage local, regional, and federal audits, and implement comprehensive tax control frameworks to mitigate risks and safeguard organizational reputation.
•
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with legal, internal tax teams, and business leadership to ensure tax efficiency across operations, providing actionable insights on the business impact of tax policy changes.
•
Reporting & Optimization: Support group tax reporting (including IAS 12) and lead tax planning initiatives to optimize the company's tax position and identify strategic savings opportunities.
•
Leadership & Project Management: Manage and drive key tax projects, fostering a collaborative environment that supports team development and business growth
Requirements
•
Bachelor/Master Degree in Accounting or Law
•
Strong experience in indirect tax and direct tax
•
Nice-to-have pharmaceutical industry experience.
•
Experience with ERP (preferably SAP) and Brazil tax systems.
•
Advanced English
