Job description
Cigna is seeking an Actuarial Manager to lead a team supporting the Reinsurance unit. This role is responsible for managing direct reports who analyze data, assess risk, and prepare financial reporting. The Actuarial Manager will apply sound judgment and actuarial expertise to develop estimates for financial reporting, forecasting, and ongoing business monitoring. This individual will partner with actuarial leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to communicate results, provide insight on models and risk issues, and ensure the timely and accurate delivery of financial exhibits for internal and external partners.
Responsibilities
•
Prepare and present reports, exhibits, and other deliverables that communicate results, key insights, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.

Conduct scenario testing, risk assessments, and other analytical reviews to support financial analysis and business decision-making.
•
Collaborate with Finance, IT, and external partners to support operational initiatives, resolve business issues, and inform strategic decisions.
•
Ensure work is completed in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, internal governance standards, and actuarial professional guidance.
•
Lead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of actuarial models used for reserving, forecasting, and business analysis.
Qualifications
•
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field
•
6+ years of progressively responsible actuarial experience.
•
Experience with the following is preferred: Querying data using SQL code; Analyzing data using R; and Advanced Excel experience.
•
Associate of the Society of Actuaries required; Fellow of the Society of Actuaries preferred
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 126,500 - 210,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
