Job overview and responsibilities
Senior Managers Heavy Maintenance are accountable for scheduled / unscheduled maintenance, repair, overhaul, and modification within the Out-Side Vendor (OSV) network. This role requires an aware leader who is proficient with many facets: aircraft maintenance, relationship building, managing in a virtual world, and executive presence. Senior Managers collaborate with numerous stakeholders, utilizing their team to deliver a safe, compliant, and predictable product to the operation while ensuring deliverables meet contractual needs of the airline’s longer-term goals. Agility, resilience, and professionalism are key attributes for this role meshed with exacting standards for performance, partnership, and integrity. Achieving sustainable results in accordance with United Airline’s Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP) while executing against schedule and budgetary forecast are key deliverables. Facility Visits: 85% International travel required? Y Operational schedule/onsite at facilities required: 50%
- Lead a team who directly oversees of safety, quality, & compliance in accordance with approved and accepted guidance
- Overall accountability for execution within accepted commitments to airline at assigned stations
- Actively pursue issues hindering visit readiness to ensure successful execution
- Approval accountability, with regards to span & pricing agreements at induction & exit of visits
- Ensure integrity & timeliness of reporting to include data validation & proper application downstream
- Hold stations and vendors accountable to contractual guidance, resolving disputes and seeking clarity.
- Act as UAL central interfacing point for OSV leadership stakeholder groups
- Lead UAL OSV SMS toolsets, championing continuous improvement & standardization across all OSV.
- Analyze & assess financial results ensuring compliance with forecast & any improvements are actioned
- Special projects as assigned by Director Heavy Maintenance to improve, standardize, & share best practices
NOTE: This position is considered remote.
Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent aviation experience
- Minimum of 7 years overall aviation industry experience, inclusive of military aviation
- Minimum of 5 years supervisory and project management experience in aviation related fields
- Aircraft heavy maintenance, project / program management
- Aircraft maintenance management
- Excellent verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external business partners
- Proven organization and leadership skills with the ability to build, lead, and maintain strong, productive teams and working relationships
- Ability to partner in a variable and complex environment achieving predictable results, partnership and relationship building along the way
- Must be willing and able to travel more than 50% domestic and international
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

The base pay range for this role is $140,600.00 to $183,108.00. The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
