Casual position with an hourly rate in the range of $69.13 to $75.28, plus superannuation of 12% (HEW Level 7)

About This Opportunity
The Innovation Pathways team of Australia’s Food and Beverage Accelerator (FaBA) supports industry-facing projects focused on research translation, commercialisation, and innovation across the national food and beverage sector.
As a Business Analyst you will be responsible for leading and coordinating data-driven analysis, market intelligence, and strategic insight to support SMEs and research partners in navigating commercialisation pathways and delivering impactful outcomes.
Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Strategic Analysis and Commercialisation
Apply expertise in food, beverage and nutraceutical R&D, new product development, and commercial strategy to deliver data-driven market insights, innovation roadmaps, and analytical tools that support SMEs and industry partners in progressing from concept to commercialisation.
Project Coordination
Manage end-to-end project lifecycle activities, including planning, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation, ensuring alignment with FaBA’s innovation and commercialisation objectives, compliance with methodologies and reporting requirements, and the effective use of data analysis, risk management, and project tools to deliver outcomes on time and within budget
Stakeholder Engagement
Engage and collaborate with FaBA partners, industry stakeholders, and internal teams to identify needs, co-design solutions, and facilitate effective relationships through coordination of workshops, forums, and stakeholder communications.
Financial Management
Manage project budgets and financial reporting, ensuring efficient use of resources, accurate forecasting, and compliance with financial delegations to support innovation and commercialisation outcomes.
Leadership and Compliance
Provide leadership across project activities while ensuring compliance with University policies, including the Code of Conduct, OH&S legislation, sustainability requirements, and relevant education services regulations.
About You
You are a motivated and analytically minded professional with a strong foundation in business, economics, innovation, or a related field. You have experience working in research, consulting, commercialisation, or industry development roles, ideally within the food and beverage, agrifood, or innovative ecosystem contexts.
Completion of, or currently undertaking a post graduate qualification in with one or more of business analytics, finance, accounting, strategy, data science, food technology, food science or agribusiness with at least two years of experience – preferably in management and business and market intelligence, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
Demonstrated experience in data analysis, business modelling, and strategic research.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing reports, briefs, and presentations.
Proven ability to engage with stakeholders and work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.
Familiarity with innovation theory, commercialisation processes, or research translation principles.
High-level organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Commitment to integrity, inclusivity, and continuous learning.
Experience in the food and beverage or agribusiness sectors.
