Principal Engineer, 5G Architecture

REQUIREMENTS

• Total experience 11+ years.
• Strong expertise in 5G NR architecture, including CU/DU split, FR1/FR2, O-RAN, and 3GPP standards.
• Hands-on experience with Layer 2 protocols (MAC, RLC, PDCP), RRM, and advanced 5G features such as Massive MIMO, RedCap, and NTN.
• Strong C/C++ development skills and expertise in real-time, multi-core Linux systems (Must Have).
• Experience with Git, Jenkins, CI/CD practices, and telecom test tools such as TM500, QXDM, and QCAT.
• Strong knowledge of MAC scheduling, QoS, performance optimization, debugging, and root cause analysis.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the design, development, and integration of 5G RAN Layer 2 solutions.
• Architect and deliver advanced 5G features while ensuring compliance with 3GPP standards.
• Design and optimize MAC scheduling algorithms to improve throughput, latency, reliability, and QoS.
• Perform system performance tuning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for complex issues.
• Collaborate with PHY, RRC, Core, O-RAN, and testing teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Drive engineering best practices, CI/CD adoption, technical reviews, and team mentoring.
• Contribute to technology roadmaps, innovation initiatives, and customer engagements.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related fields,
