Job description

As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Project Accounting Supervisor to lead and develop our AMER Project Accounting team within our Global Business Services (GBS) organization.

This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional with strong leadership skills, a passion for process excellence, and experience working in a fast-paced, international environment.

As Project Accounting Supervisor, you'll lead a team of Project Accountants responsible for supporting projects across the Americas region. You'll play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, compliance, and stakeholder satisfaction while driving team engagement and continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities will include:

Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of Project Accountants
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and performance-driven culture
  • Support employee engagement, development, and retention
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet business demands

Partner with the Business

  • Build strong relationships with Operational Finance and project stakeholders
  • Act as a trusted advisor on project accounting matters
  • Collaborate with multiple functions across the Global Business Services organization
  • Escalate and resolve complex financial or project-related issues

Ensure Quality and Compliance

  • Review and validate key project accounting activities, including:
    • Project setup and modifications
    • Estimates at Completion (EACs)
    • Month-end activities
  • Monitor accuracy and timeliness metrics across the team
  • Ensure compliance with SOX requirements, company policies, and accounting standards
  • Support internal and external audits as required

Drive Financial Excellence

  • Oversee project financial administration and revenue recognition activities
  • Ensure accurate month-end close processes and reporting deadlines are met
  • Support consistent application of accounting practices across the team
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • Previous people management or team leadership experience
  • Strong background in finance and accounting operations
  • Experience in project accounting, ideally within a multinational organization
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to balance attention to detail with a broader business perspective
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken
  • Flexibility to work an AMER schedule (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)

You'll Stand Out If You Have:

  • Experience working in a shared services or Global Business Services environment
  • Knowledge of Oracle or similar ERP systems
  • Experience driving process improvements and standardization initiatives
  • Exposure to SOX compliance and audit support activities
