Job description
Why join us?
Vision Plus has proudly served the Vero Beach community since 2000, providing personalized eye care tailored to each patient’s unique needs. As the only optical in the tri-county area with a full surfacing lab, the practice is known for creative eyewear solutions and is seeking an Optometrist with experience fitting specialty contact lenses. The team includes long-tenured doctors with deep roots in the community, supported by 16 full-time employees, many of whom have been with the practice for more than a decade. With a new building under construction and plans to expand lab capabilities by adding AR, Vision Plus is entering an exciting period of growth and innovation.
What you'll do:
As an Optometrist in this thriving private practice, you will provide comprehensive eye exams and fit a wide range of contact lenses, including disposable, gas permeable, scleral, and hybrid lenses, while caring for a diverse patient base in a dynamic, patient-centered environment. Supported by advanced technology such as a Topographer, Optomap, Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer, Tonoref II, and Topcon Maestro, you will deliver accurate diagnoses and tailored solutions with confidence. This position starts at three full days per week, totaling approximately 24 to 32 hours, with the potential to grow into a full-time role as the practice expands into its new building. With each doctor typically seeing 15 to 20 exams per day, the role offers a balanced pace that supports both clinical excellence and meaningful patient relationships.
Who you are:
The ideal candidate brings at least five years of experience in a corporate or independent practice setting, along with strong clinical confidence and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. This role is best suited for a personable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Optometrist who values building long-term patient relationships, works collaboratively with opticians and staff, and is comfortable educating patients on advanced lens options. Success in this environment requires confidence in a fast-paced private practice setting, a team-first mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and experience fitting scleral and gas permeable contact lenses.
Why you'll love Vero Beach:
Vero Beach offers an exceptional quality of life with its scenic coastline, welcoming community, and relaxed yet refined atmosphere. From beautiful beaches and water activities to locally owned restaurants, boutique shopping, and a vibrant arts scene, the area provides the perfect balance of recreation and everyday comfort. With excellent outdoor amenities, a charming small-town feel, and easy access to the conveniences of Florida's Treasure Coast, Vero Beach is an ideal place to build both a rewarding career and a fulfilling lifestyle.
You’ll enjoy a range of benefits, including:
Flexible hours
Minimum Qualifications:

Preferably a minimum of 5 years experience in either corporate or independent practice.
