Shape Global VAT Compliance and Drive Tax Excellence as a Senior VAT Tax Analyst
Location: Bengaluru

The Senior VAT Tax Analyst is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely VAT compliance, reporting, and accounting across multiple jurisdictions. The role plays a critical part in managing indirect tax risks, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting statutory reporting requirements. Working closely with Finance, Tax, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable teams, the incumbent ensures the accuracy of VAT-related transactions and reconciliations. The position supports audits, tax authority inquiries, and the resolution of complex VAT issues. Additionally, the role drives process improvements, automation, and standardization initiatives to enhance efficiency and control. As a key member of the Shared Finance Services team, the analyst acts as a trusted partner to global stakeholders and contributes to continuous improvement across the tax function.
So, what does it take to be successful in this role?
- Strong VAT & Indirect Tax Expertise
In-depth knowledge of VAT compliance, reporting, reconciliations, and indirect tax regulations, preferably across multiple jurisdictions. - Accounting & ERP Proficiency
Strong understanding of accounting principles, VAT accounting entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and hands-on experience with SAP or similar ERP systems. - Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, interpret tax regulations, and provide practical solutions to complex VAT issues. - Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
Effective communication skills to partner with Global Tax, Local Finance, AP, AR, and external auditors across multiple geographies. - Continuous Improvement Mindset
Proven ability to drive process optimization, automation, and standardization initiatives to improve efficiency, compliance, and control.
