You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Salesforce's U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliance program, including the registration. As part of the Global Trade team, reporting to the Head of Global Trade, you will work closely with the business to create the strategy and proactively plan ITAR licensing and other obligations against evolving bespoke product and service plans. This is a hybrid role and you will work out of the Salesforce office 3 days a week.
Key responsibilities:

Serve as Salesforce's designated ITAR Empowered Official, overseeing Salesforce’s ITAR compliance program.
Review and sign export license applications and Technical Assistance Agreements (TAAs), verifying transaction legality and ensuring all exports align with the ITAR regulations and Salesforce’s business policies and practices.
Conduct due diligence to verify the eligibility of parties involved in transactions.
Manage ITAR registration with DDTC, ensuring compliance with annual renewals and mandatory change notifications for any substantive organizational changes.
Manage commodity jurisdiction (CJ) classifications and make jurisdictional determinations regarding which Salesforce products and bespoke activities are ITAR-regulated.
Act as the primary defense trade export control resource for the business teams during deal and solution evaluations, ensuring Salesforce does not engage in unauthorized transactions.
Prepare, submit, approve, and manage authorizations to engage in activities regulated by the ITAR and other export control regimes, as applicable, including continuous tracking and decrementing against each authorization.
Track and report to DDTC information regarding whether Salesforce or our vendors have paid certain thresholds of political contributions, fees, or commissions.
Desired skills and experience:
Extensive experience as an ITAR compliance professional capable of designing and managing an enterprise ITAR program
Experience with Commodity Jurisdiction analysis, preparation, and submission
Proven track record of implementing effective compliance processes and programs
Experience in managing export licensing processes, including mandatory reporting
Experience with risk management and compliance audits
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and ability to effectively collaborate across functions with key business and legal stakeholders
Proven success in managing projects and large initiatives, and ability to work independently
Experience interfacing with government agencies, particularly DDTC, regarding registrations, authorizations, due diligence submissions, and audits
Familiarity with DECCS and compliance tools
Experience in sanctions compliance work is a plus
High ethical standards and attention to detail
