Guy Carpenter is seeking a high-performing, technically adept Vice President – Reinsurance Actuary to join our Actuarial Analytics team in Dubai, UAE.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced actuarial professional to play a key role in supporting clients across the IMEA region, delivering insight-led analytics that shape reinsurance strategy and commercial outcomes. Working closely with brokers, clients, and regional stakeholders, you will help design practical, analytically robust reinsurance solutions that support portfolio performance and business growth.
What can you expect?
In this role, you will combine technical actuarial expertise with commercial insight to support key reinsurance decisions across a diverse portfolio of general insurance business. You will work on high-impact client engagements, contribute to renewal and placement strategy, and collaborate with senior stakeholders across the region.
This position offers broad exposure to multiple markets across IMEA, a strong learning curve across technical and client-facing dimensions, and the chance to contribute to strategic growth in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
We will count on you to:
Partner closely with Reinsurance brokers to support portfolio strategy, client engagement, and business growth initiatives.
Perform technical assessments across general insurance portfolios, including pricing adequacy, volatility analysis, retention optimization, and reinsurance structuring.
Develop, validate, and interpret analytical outputs using sound actuarial judgment and first-principles thinking.
Build and review loss projections, stress scenarios, and portfolio performance metrics to support reinsurance decision-making.
Translate technical analysis into commercially relevant insights and clear, market-facing narratives.
Support the structuring and optimization of proportional and non-proportional reinsurance solutions, including quota share, excess of loss, and hybrid arrangements.
Collaborate with brokers and regional stakeholders on client presentations, strategic discussions, and renewal negotiations.
Use internal tools, including MetaRisk, portfolio models, and bespoke analytical frameworks, to develop practical reinsurance solutions.
Challenge assumptions, validate methodologies, and ensure outputs are technically robust, commercially relevant, and aligned with governance standards.
Take ownership of deliverables while working within established peer review and oversight frameworks.
Contribute to analytics framework development, process improvement, and knowledge sharing across regional teams.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with brokers, clients, reinsurers, and internal stakeholders across IMEA.
What you need to have:
Qualified or near-qualified actuary (FIAI, FIA, FCAS, or equivalent).
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
8+ years of relevant actuarial or reinsurance analytics experience.
Strong technical understanding of actuarial principles, portfolio analytics, and reinsurance structures.
Ability to independently assess analytical reasonability, validate outputs, and identify inconsistencies or flawed assumptions.
Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to connect technical findings to practical market outcomes.
Ability to communicate complex analytical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
High attention to detail, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for quality.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight timelines in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborative working style, with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
What makes you stand out:
Experience within a reinsurance broker, reinsurer, or insurer environment.
Prior exposure to client-facing discussions, renewal support, and reinsurance placement strategy.
Experience working across multiple markets and product lines within a regional setup.
Familiarity with analytical and visualization tools such as R, Python, SQL, Alteryx, Power BI, or equivalent platforms.
Ability to balance technical depth with commercial practicality and high-quality communication.
