Summary:
Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for developing electrical content for new switchgear designs. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and project management abilities.
Responsibilities:
The following list of responsibilities is not all inclusive, additional projects and/or tasks may be assigned to meet operational needs. MCG retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position should operational needs warrant.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and manage others as necessary, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages team members to reach their full potential.
- Promote effective communication and collaboration within the engineering team and with other departments.
Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects within scope, budget, and timeline constraints.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, which may include project management, quality assurance, and production to ensure seamless project execution.
- Identify and mitigate risks, proactively address issues, and make data-driven decisions to keep projects on track.
Technical Strategy:
- Contribute to the development and execution of the company's Low Voltage, Medium Voltage Switchgear, other Solutions, technical strategy and roadmap.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure the continuous improvement of the engineering team and related processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical initiatives with business goals.
Resource Management:
- Allocate resources effectively to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Assess staffing needs, participate in hiring processes, and onboard new team members.
- Manage workloads and balance priorities to optimize team productivity.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality products by implementing and maintaining robust engineering processes and quality standards.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve team efficiency and product quality.
Budget and Cost Control:
- Work with the finance department to develop and manage the engineering budget.
- Monitor and control costs, ensuring efficient use of resources while delivering high-quality results.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Knowledge/Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering leadership roles.
- Experienced in the design of electrical switchgear.
- Typical years’ experience in a similar or related industry - 10-15 years minimum.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in technical management and personnel development.
- AutoCAD (2D), AutoCAD Mechanical, Autodesk Inventor (3D), Computer Aided Design (CAD), Engineering Design, Product Development, Technical Analysis
- Satisfactory completion of additional background screening

Work Environment and Physical Demands
- The work environment is a typical office environment, with quiet to moderate noise levels, and traditional lighting.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and operating a computer.
- Must be able to communicate effectively using phones or computer software.
- Must be able to regularly stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 15 lbs.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the assigned facilities.
- Must be able to travel between MCG locations as needed, some travel could require overnight stays.
