Job description

Cytokinetics is a specialty cardiovascular biopharmaceutical company, building on its over 25 years of pioneering scientific innovations in muscle biology, and advancing a pipeline of potential new medicines for patients suffering from diseases of cardiac muscle dysfunction.

The Head of Global Facilities is responsible for leading the company’s global facilities and EHS strategy and operations across different countries. This leader will serve as a strategic business partner to executive leadership while ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, employee experience, and scalable workplace solutions across multiple countries.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute global facilities and workplace operations strategy in alignment with business and commercialization priorities.

  • Lead all aspects of facilities operations across laboratory, office, and commercial environments, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations globally.

  • Lead Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) efforts to ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements across all sites.

  • Oversee global real estate activities including lease negotiations, renewals, site expansions, landlord relationships, and space planning.

  • Lead facilities-related capital projects including laboratory expansions, office buildouts, renovations, relocations, and infrastructure upgrades.

  • Establish scalable processes, operational standards, and workplace policies across global locations while ensuring alignment with regional and country-specific requirements.

  • Oversee workplace services and operational programs including fleet management, security coordination, food services, badging, shipping/receiving, and employee workplace experience initiatives.

  • Manage global facilities operating and capital budgets, vendor relationships, and strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize cost, service delivery, and operational performance.

  • Drive business continuity, workplace readiness, risk mitigation, and operational resilience initiatives across all sites.

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing global facilities organization while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on facilities strategy, workplace planning, operational risks, and long-term infrastructure needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, or related field required.

  • 15+ years of progressive facilities and workplace operations leadership experience, preferably within biotech, pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries.

  • Demonstrated experience overseeing laboratory and office environments across multiple sites and countries.

  • Proven leadership experience managing global facilities operations, capital projects, and real estate portfolios.

  • Strong knowledge of facilities infrastructure, workplace operations, safety and compliance standards, and vendor management practices.

  • Experience managing large operating and capital budgets with strong financial and business acumen.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through organizational growth, change, and evolving business priorities.

  • Strong executive presence, communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Pay Range:

In the U.S., the hiring pay range for fully qualified candidates is $289,900-$338,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
