What You’ll Do:
The Operational Buyer supports the execution of procurement activities for wind farm operations, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant sourcing of materials and services.
You will be responsible for end-to-end operational procurement execution, while supporting contract implementation, supplier performance, and internal stakeholder coordination. The role works closely with Operations, Engineering, Warehousing, and Finance to ensure uninterrupted asset performance.
The role can be based in Norddeich or Hamburg and will be expected to work from the office a minimum of 4 days per week with one day available to work from home

Key Responsibilities

Your main areas of responsibility include:

1. Operational Procurement Execution

  • Execute end-to-end procurement activities: RFQs, bid evaluations, negotiations, order placement, and invoice verification.
  • Procure spare parts, tools, consumables, and technical materials required for wind farm operations.
  • Ensure delivery timelines, quality, and cost targets are met to support site operations.
  • Maintain procurement documentation and ensure audit-ready processes.

2. Supplier Coordination & Performance Support

  • Act as the operational interface with suppliers for order execution, delivery tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Support supplier performance monitoring (delivery, quality, responsiveness) aligned with defined KPIs.
  • Escalate supply or performance risks and support corrective actions.
  • Assist in supplier onboarding and compliance with HSE and operational standards.

3. Contract & Compliance Support

  • Support implementation of existing contracts, including call-offs and purchase orders.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with contractual terms, internal governance, and procurement procedures.
  • Maintain proper documentation for contract execution, variations, and approvals.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, Warehouse, and Finance teams.
  • Support internal stakeholders in defining requirements and ensuring timely procurement delivery.
  • Contribute to efficient coordination across departments and external service providers.

5. Systems, Data & Inventory Support

  • Maintain and update procurement and materials master data in ERP/CMMS systems.
  • Support warehouse activities such as inventory checks, stock reporting, and monthly closing activities.
  • Contribute to ERP/CMMS system improvements and data quality initiatives.

6. Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement improvements in procurement processes and supply chain efficiency.
  • Support standardization of procurement workflows and documentation.
  • Contribute to cost optimization and operational efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Completed commercial apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
  • 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience with different ERP/CMMS systems and MS Office.
  • Strong commercial and basic technical understanding.
  • Good negotiation and supplier coordination skills.
  • Fluent in English (German is an advantage).
  • Open to relocate to Norddeich/Hamburg and is open to travel for work.
