The Lead, Health Workforce Information Integration reports to the Director, Health Workforce Data, Planning & Evidence and plays a key role in advancing high profile data and information solutions that support health workforce planning across Ontario

This role leads the planning, management, and delivery of new data assets and large-scale information products, while overseeing project team members as needed.

The successful candidate will lead the development and ongoing oversight of key Health Human Resources information repositories, including Ontario’s HHR Knowledge Hub.

Working closely with internal and external partners, the Lead will drive critical deliverables and identify opportunities to strengthen data, database development, and information management practices.

This position is essential to ensuring the quality, integrity, and timely delivery of information products that meet the needs of diverse stakeholders.

Success in this role requires strong relationship-building, collaboration, and the ability to lead expert panels and working groups to ensure data and information products are relevant, practical, and responsive to system needs. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and brings excellent judgment, communication, time management, and prioritization skills.

Here is what you will be doing:

  • Lead priority projects focused on data acquisition, database development, and the delivery of high-quality information products that support health workforce and system capacity planning.

  • Identify, assess, and onboard new data assets and information products, ensuring alignment with legal, privacy, and security requirements.

  • Partner with data, IT, and business teams to develop platforms, repositories, and tools that improve access to and use of health workforce data.

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify data sources, user needs, business processes, and opportunities for improvement, including automation and emerging technologies.

  • Provide knowledge translation, documentation, and guidance to support the interpretation and uptake of information products by business and analytics users.

  • Monitor project plans, risks, and priorities, and provide recommendations and escalations to leadership as needed.

  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for clinicians, health administrators, management, and other partners on data sources, analytics, and information products.

  • Contribute to enterprise data and analytics communities of practice, governance, protocols, and methodologies through collaboration and knowledge sharing.

  • Stay current on health workforce trends and support team and departmental objectives through additional assignments and special projects as required.

Here is what you need to be successful:

Education and Experience:

  • An undergraduate degree (master's degree preferred) in Information Management, Information Technology, Engineering, Health Sciences, Health Administration, or Health Informatics, or equivalent experience working is required

  • 5+ years of data related experience or experience in similar capacity

  • 3 years of management experience leading large scale projects and project teams.

  • Data production/operations experience, preferably in the healthcare industry

  • Experience with relational databases, which may include writing SQL queries, SAS, R, Python.

  • Experience with SharePoint, Power BI, excel and website design.

  • Experience working and leading cross functional teams to develop large scale data/information/research repositories.

  • Experience in the organization, visualization and dissemination of large-scale analytics, research, and best practices

  • Experience engaging technical and non-technical audiences to both gather and clearly communicate data and information.

  • Familiarity with procurement and contracting norms in Ontario and within the Ontario Health IT space, an asset.

  • Willingness to onboard data assets and navigating work associated with legal and privacy concerns.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of data manipulation, data management, and business intelligence concepts and tools as well as familiarity with health care data standards and methodologies to deliver on objectives or execute activities

  • Knowledge of data architecture, data governance principles, data management, enterprise architecture, data models, processes, and application

  • Knowledge of the relevant data quality processes, frameworks, and methodologies

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage and solicit support from a wide range of external and internal stakeholders in the delivery of the program activities

  • Ability to influence decisions through well-articulated recommendations to key decision makers
