Program Description

In year 2 of a 7-year contract, this program provides SETA (Systems Engineering Technical Advisor) & SE&I (Systems Engineering & Integration) services to an important Intelligence Community (IC) customer with a focus on critical, space domain missions and supporting IT infrastructure. The contract support is part of the customer core team focused on all aspects of the systems engineering life cycle beginning with conops development, where we work directly with users, potentially going into harm's way, who will be dependent on these systems. We then capture their requirements and work closely with developers to deliver these essential capabilities. We get involved with setting up and running tests to ensure these cutting-edge capabilities will meet the stringent requirements and then we support transition to operations. Once in operations, our teams work closely with the users to make sure critical operations are successful, providing important information to support critical decisions by policy makers. The program also supports client acquisition strategy, future technology development and modernization efforts.

Specific Position Description

Located in Chantilly, VA., this opportunity is for an opportunity supporting a continually evolving, critical mission system that supports the IC. In a SETA role, this position involves working closely with the government customer, the development and O&M contractors and both internal and external users to ensure new capabilities meet user requirements and are successfully transitioned into operations. A key part of the system involves using overhead systems and space domain technologies to accomplish the mission. We are expected to provide end-to-end understanding of the system and contribute to the development of new capabilities by helping to properly configure and test the system for successful operations. In some cases, when new capabilities and/or configurations are necessary, we use our expertise to help our mission partners to achieve the right solutions. As system familiarity increases, assignments will take on increasingly complex tasks in an acquisition support role. Projects will vary widely, from user engagement & training to leading end-to-end testing to prove a concept or confirm a new enhancement hits the mark for the user. Tasks will span the systems engineering life cycle from initial concept of operations discussions with users, all the way through capability development and deployment into operations. We are also expected to capture the baseline architecture of our systems which has traditionally been document based. We are now moving toward Digital Engineering as we transitional many of our products and processes into customer provided digital engineering ecosystem.
