About Woodwinds
- Woodwinds is a 86 bed hospital opened in 2000 locates on 30 acres of pristine wetlands in Woodbury MN.
- It is the only hospital in the southeast metro area. Woodwinds provides convenient, comprehensive and quality health care for the community.
- 7 OR Surgery Department, 20-25 cases per day, Patient age:18+
- Patient Population: General Surgery, Orthopedics, Ortho Spine, Podiatry, OB/GYN, Plastics, ENT, and Ophthalmology
Schedule: This position will be working 80 hours every 2 weeks on the Day/Evening shift Monday through Friday.
Job Expectations
- Manages day-to-day operations of assigned area(s) to ensure support of the mission, vision, values and goals of the organization.
- Plans, manages, coordinates and evaluates patient care activities including staffing, resource management, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, and financial management.
- Manages equipment inventory and supply management within operational budget.
- Accountable for capacity management to promote patient flow.
- Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates the quality improvement initiatives.
In addition, the PCS
- Is responsible for human resources management to achieve quality service and positive employee relations.
- Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Advocates for patient, family and staff needs.
- Drives improvement activities that promote patient centered care and positive customer experience.
- In partnership the Nursing Practice and Education team assure that evidence based/best practice clinical care is being delivered.
- Ensures staff compliance in areas of job requirements, education and clinical competency.
- Works with Nurse Director to establish goals and objectives.
- Promotes a culture of high employee engagement, professional development, nursing education and research.
- Partners with interprofessional team members across the continuum of care to achieve organizational outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of acute care perioperative experience, at least one of which in a formal or informal (charge, lead, preceptor) leadership role. Knowledge of patient population served in area of responsibility.
- Perioperative experience
- MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) Operating Room Department/Pre & Post Department
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (American Heart Assoc) Pre & Post Department - ACLS
- Pediatric Adv Life Support (American Heart Assoc) Pre & Post Department-PALS
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong Periop and OR backgroundKnowledge of OR process
- Master’s degree in nursing, health care administration, business administration or related field.
- Leadership within Perioperative or another applicable clinical environment

The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions.
