Responsibilities
- Qualit y: Active participation in neonatal qapi programs. A ssists with data collection, submission of regulatory measures, tracking & reporting of stats. W orks to establish written guidelines or protocols for prevention, early identification, early diagnosis, and the ra py for various conditions. C ritically appraises and res earches data. P er i od i c review & revision for all ne o natal care policies and procedures.
- Leadership : S erves as the program manager for neonatal levels of care. P rovides leadership and vision for the program. monitors the provision of the neonatal patient care service from admission, stab iliz ation, operative interventions (if app l icable), through discharge, inclusive of qu al ity assessment and performance improvement ( qapi ) Program. Manages the day to day activities of the program to ensure their efficient operations. Maintains detailed documentation of program activities as specified in level of care rules and ensures all criteria are met. C ontributes to strategic planning, leads and directs achievement in the provision of quality care to the identified population. M aintains professional communication with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
- D ata collection & program compliance : C ritically appraises data and implements findings in patient care decisions. E nsures neonatal data integrity through clinical review and verification of the electronic health record. D evelop and maintain a written plan of the neonatal program that includes detailed description of the scope of service available to the population. W orks with manager and staff for level of care readiness.
- O utreach : A ctive partic i pant in local, state, regional organizations. provides & participates in outreach to surrounding communities as needed/requested that contribute to BSA’s mission. Attends area RAC meetings. P rovides follow up within the community. A cts as a liaison for EMS agencies. R epresents the W omen’s D epartment at hospital wide councils.
- Education : C ollaborates with the N eonatal M edical D irector, M aternal M edical D irector, T ransport M edical D irector, and D epartment D irector. P articipates in regular meetings with U nit M anagers for the D epartment. S erves as a resource to staff as a subject matter expert. I dentifies areas for nursing research, implementation of current evidence based practice changes, assist in development of ongoing and annual competencies as well as unit based drills. active participant in professional organizations and maintains professional certifications required for job role.
Qualifications
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree- Nursing •
3 years’ Experience Perinatal Nursing
•
RN- Registered Nurse Upon Hire
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. •
NRP- Neonatal Resuscitation Program
Preferred Job Requirements
- Master’s Degree- Nursing or Healthcare related field
- 5 years’ Experience Perinatal Nursing
- Experience in project management.
