ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Key Responsibilities Provisioning amp Configuration Setting up and scaling database instances managing storage and configuring high availability HA and disaster recovery DR solutions eg replication Performance Monitoring amp Tuning Proactively monitoring CPU storage and network usage to ensure performance using native tools for optimization Migration amp Optimization Migrating on premises databases to the cloud quot lift and shift quot;) and re- architecting systems for better cost and performance efficiency QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements include Cloud Platforms Proficiency in Azure Cloud Azure SQL Oracle Cloud Infrastructure OCI Database Expertise Deep knowledge of relational SQLGoldengate Service on cloud including tuning and troubleshooting DevOps Tools Familiarity with CI CD tools Terraform and CLI scripting Networking Understanding of VPCs, security groups, VPNs, and firewalls Evolution of the Role JOB DESCRIPTION -TEMPLATE  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field  3-5 years of database administrator experience.  A good knowledge and experience working with Oracle or SQL Server is required  Experience with Operating System commands and scripting  A good knowledge of physical database design is preferred  Good skills in various Database monitoring tools  Experience with Cross Database Replication(Eg. Golden Gate) product is preferred  A good understanding of Database security management.  A good knowledge of how the database acquires and manages resources.  A sound knowledge of performing database query optimization  A DBA should have sound communication skills to be able to collaborate with various stakeholders SUCCESSFUL COMPETENCY FACTORS Use of the following skills problem solving, analytical ability, effective communication, confidentiality.
