Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. A short distance from Iskut and Dease Lake, Our fly-in, fly-out site offers access from various points across British Columbia and Alberta. Red Chris currently operates as an open-pit copper and gold mine with a promising future to transition to a high-value underground block cave operation. Your impact

You will play a key role in strengthening safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across our open‑pit mining operations. By developing and delivering high‑quality, competency‑based training, you’ll directly support the growth, confidence, and performance of our equipment operators—helping shape a safer, more skilled, and more inclusive workforce at Red Chris.

As part of our team you will

Champion safety by embedding safe work practices into all training and assessments.

Deliver competency‑based training for open‑pit equipment, including haul trucks, drills, shovels, dozers, graders, and water trucks.

Conduct assessments, identify skill gaps, and tailor training to operational needs.

Develop training plans, materials, and documentation aligned with regulatory and site standards.

Track and report training KPIs, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.

Build strong cross‑department relationships to align training with operational goals.

Mentor operators and foster a culture of learning, inclusion, and professional growth.

Support site initiatives related to safety, sustainability, and operational excellence.

Introduce innovative training solutions and industry best practices.

Prerequisites for your success in this role

Several years of training or supervisory experience in open‑pit mining.

Hands‑on experience operating or training on open‑pit mobile equipment.

Haul truck training experience (asset).

High school diploma (required).

Mine Supervisor Certification or willingness to obtain.

Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to deliver competency‑based training aligned with organizational goals.

Knowledge of mining regulations, safety standards, and workplace agreements.

Proficiency in SAP SuccessFactors (LMS), Power BI, Articulate 360, and MS Office—or willingness to learn.

Familiarity with instructional design and blended learning approaches.

Willingness to obtain Train‑the‑Trainer certification.

Strong problem‑solving skills and comfort working in the field.

Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

Site‑based role at Red Chris Mine on a 15x13 rotation (Fly‑In, Fly‑Out).

The expected salary range for this role is CA$ 85,400.00 - 113,900.00 . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
