IMG/UC Medical Assistant - Cross Functional Services - PD Float

Provides clinical and support services to patients, providers, and staff in the Urgent Care Clinic to improve turnaround time and facilitate maximum efficiency in the department. Schedules patients for follow-up services. Responsible for greeting patients, creating, or verifying, analyzing, and updating patient and insurance information. In addition, the Technician will explain payment policies and the billing collection process. Generate charge ticket information, accepting payment, posting entry, and balancing payments.

QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience preferred, however, will accept new graduates who have completed an externship through an approved program. Experience in patient care, EKG, or phlebotomy required. Knowledge of basic medical terminology. Active Medical Assistant Certification or Registry required. Must possess an active AHA Healthcare Provider CPR/ BLS certification.
