Role Overview

The role of the Change and Design Manager is to lead a team of designers that design change, business and curriculum content across the division, archetypes and platforms.

  • Communication – Skilled in using various communication techniques to gather detailed information.
  • Storytelling – Ability to use an appropriate tone of voice and writing style to meet the objectives of the learning content.
  • Resilience, Wellbeing & Adaptability – Ability to lead a team working at pace, manage competing priorities, multi-task, and deliver within timelines.
  • Colleague Experience – Learner-centric decision-making with a digital focus aligned to wider business strategies.
  • Design Technical Skills – Graphic design expertise to create impactful learning using tools such as Articulate, Adobe Creative Cloud applications, and M365.
  • Creativity & Innovative Thinking – Using design thinking to improve user experience, strong visual design skills, and identifying opportunities via data analysis.
  • Agile Delivery – Focus on agility, pace, efficiency, and alignment with platform culture, tools, and methodologies in a large organisation.
  • Learning & Talent Development – Driving a team to understand how a positive learning experience impacts colleague performance and wellbeing.

Key Activities

  • Manage a team of Change and Design Consultants to create and maintain learning content, fostering curiosity and innovation using learning theories.
  • Simplify complex information into clear, easy-to-understand learning content.
  • Create and lead a design plan ensuring consistent, high-quality learning solutions aligned with brand standards.
  • Ensure adherence to risk and governance standards for all design activities.
  • Collaborate with designers and business partners to select the right learning solutions using modern technology and learning science.
  • Develop proposals, storyboards, and scripts before content design, focusing on strategic design decisions.
  • Support end-to-end management and delivery of learning products and curriculums, including:
    • Training Needs Analysis (TNA)
    • Quality Assurance
    • MI tracking and reporting
    • Risk management
    • Governance and evaluation
  • Lead and design immersive learning using tools such as Articulate, Adobe Creative Cloud, and M365.
  • Promote an inclusive culture with curiosity and adoption of best practices and emerging tools, including AI-based platforms like Synthesia and PowToon.
  • Drive a “curation first” approach to maximise value from curated learning content providers.
  • Performance manage the team to support skill development and address underperformance.
