About AmpThink
AmpThink is a Master Technology Integrator. We design, deploy, and support the converged technology that powers the world's premier venues — and we've delivered the technology in every new NFL stadium built since US Bank Stadium. Our work powers Super Bowls, All-Star Games, national championships, and sold-out tours. When 70,000 fans pull out their phones at once and everything just works, that's our team.
We move fast, we value what every contributor brings, and we hold everyone to a high standard. Our informal structure rewards self-starters who look beyond their role to help grow the company. If you want your work at the center of the sports and entertainment world, this is where it happens.
The Role
We are hiring a Senior Low Voltage Technician to maintain the signage, structured cabling, fiber, and network systems across the SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park campus, working as a member of the AmpThink team under our contract with Hollywood Park.
The current priority is a repair project on the campus signage: restoring 88 outdoor signs by replacing their control systems and failed LED panels, as part of a larger 300-sign portfolio. As that work completes, the role becomes ongoing operations and maintenance across all 300 signs, the campus fiber optic network, and the installed network/LAN.
This is a broad, multi-system role. We prioritize candidates with structured cabling experience, and you do not need to be an expert in every system on day one — see the training note in Requirements.
What You Will Do
- Pull, dress, and terminate category (copper) and fiber optic cabling, and install supporting pathways including EMT conduit and flexible/non-metallic conduit
- Maintain and troubleshoot the campus fiber optic network — inspect, clean, test, and repair fiber links and connectors
- Support and maintain the installed network/LAN — patching, terminations, device swaps, and basic switch and connectivity troubleshooting
- Diagnose and repair outdoor LED signs — replace failed LED panels and modules, swap and configure sign control systems, and restore displays to full operation
- Move from the initial 88-sign repair program into ongoing preventive and corrective maintenance across the full 300-sign portfolio
- Perform light electrical work to connect and verify power to signs (no electrician's license required)
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and system documentation
- Work safely outdoors, at heights, and on aerial lifts, following all site safety protocols
- Track time worked, time on task, and ticket and task completion in AmpThink's Zoho tools (primarily Zoho Desk and Zoho Projects), and provide daily and weekly updates to the project management team
What You Bring
- 3+ years of hands-on structured cabling / low voltage experience (strongly preferred). Comparable experience in fiber, electronics/display repair, or network systems is also welcome.
- Strong troubleshooting instincts and solid electronic and mechanical aptitude — you can methodically isolate a fault and fix it
- Comfort working outdoors, at heights, and on aerial lifts for full shifts
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
- Comfortable using a PC and learning software tools (we run on Zoho)
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- A quality-first mindset and the discipline to document your work
- Ability to pass a background check and confirm eligibility to work in the United States
Core Technical Functions
Primary (prioritized)
- Working with and installing EMT, flexible and non-metallic conduit
- Pulling and terminating category cable
- Working with fiber optic cabling
- Replacing failed power and networking component
Secondary (helpful for success)
- Working with network equipment (residential gateways or commercial LAN)
- Experience using a PC
We'll train the right person. Structured cabling experience is what we prioritize, but you don't need to be an expert in every system on day one. If you bring strong cabling and conduit fundamentals — or comparable fiber, electronics/display repair, or network experience — plus the aptitude and drive to learn the rest, AmpThink will provide hands-on training on our specific signage, fiber, and network systems.
Nice to Have
- BICSI or other structured cabling certification
- Fiber optic termination, testing, or splicing experience
- Experience repairing or installing LED displays, video boards, or digital signage
- Networking / LAN experience (patching, switches, basic IP troubleshooting)
- AVIXA CTS, OSHA 10/30, aerial lift, or manufacturer/display certifications
- Prior work in a stadium, arena, or large-campus environment
The position will pay $33–$35/hour depending on experience.
AmpThink offers benefits which include 3 weeks of paid leave per year, 8 paid holidays, health insurance (PPO) premium paid in full for employees, and a Simple IRA retirement savings plan which matches dollar for dollar up to 3% of employee's annual salary. AmpThink employees also have access to optional, voluntary group benefits such as dental, life, disability, and financial planning.
This is a full-time W-2 position. It is not a prevailing-wage or union role. AmpThink is an equal opportunity employer.
