Job description
The Security Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the daily security operation of the hotel, ensuring the protection of guests, team members, visitors, suppliers, facilities and assets of Hyde. This role supports incident prevention, access control, security patrols, emergency response and compliance with internal policies, always maintaining a professional, discreet and service-oriented approach.
This position requires an operational leader with good judgment, sense of urgency, strong reaction skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with calmness, respect and confidentiality. As part of a lifestyle hotel, the Security Supervisor must balance safety and prevention with a warm, smooth and guest-focused experience aligned with Hyde’s personality.
Duties & Functions
- Supervise the security team during the assigned shift, ensuring proper coverage in key hotel areas.
- Safeguard guests, team members, visitors, suppliers, hotel facilities and assets.
- Coordinate and conduct preventive patrols in public areas, team member areas, guest floors, access points, offices, storage areas, parking areas and operational spaces.
- Supervise access control for team members, suppliers, contractors, visitors and incoming goods.
- Monitor CCTV cameras, logs, incident reports and available security systems.
- Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, disturbances, accidents, lost items, damages, thefts or risk situations.
- Support the execution of emergency, evacuation, first aid, fire prevention and crisis management protocols.
- Prepare clear, complete and timely reports regarding incidents, daily activity, patrols, findings and relevant situations.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, work rules, security procedures and brand standards.
- Maintain constant communication with Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, People & Culture and other departments.
- Provide discreet and professional support in situations involving guests, team members or visitors, always protecting the hotel’s image.
- Supervise the proper use of radios, keys, access controls, badges, logs, emergency equipment and security tools.
- Follow up on lost and found items, missing assets, internal investigations and special security requests.
- Support team training on security procedures, service standards, emergency response and risk prevention.
- Ensure the team maintains impeccable grooming, professional communication and a service-oriented attitude.
- Promote a culture of prevention, respect, confidentiality and collaboration.
- Report any unsafe condition, operational risk, equipment failure or situation that may impact hotel safety.
- Support events, activations, VIP arrivals, groups or high-traffic situations when required.
- Comply with and enforce hygiene, safety, civil protection and internal hotel policies.
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- High school diploma required; technical studies or courses in Security, Civil Protection, Risk Prevention, Criminology, Administration or a related field will be valued.
- Minimum of two years of experience in private security, hospitality, shopping centers, corporate buildings, restaurants, entertainment venues or high guest-contact environments.
- Previous experience as Security Supervisor, Lead Security Officer, CCTV Operator, Shift Leader or similar role will be highly valued.
- Experience in hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs, entertainment venues or lifestyle environments is desirable.
- Knowledge of access control, preventive patrols, CCTV, logs, incident reports and security protocols.
- Basic knowledge of civil protection, evacuation procedures, fire prevention, first aid and emergency response.
- Ability to lead teams, assign positions, follow up on instructions and maintain operational discipline.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations, conflicts, emergencies or difficult guests with calmness, good judgment and professionalism.
- Ability to prepare clear, objective and complete reports.
- Excellent grooming, verbal communication and service attitude.
- Strong sense of responsibility, confidentiality, honesty, discretion and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in risk situations.
- Availability to work flexible schedules, rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and overnight shifts when required.
- Intermediate English required.
- Basic knowledge of digital tools, email, reports and security systems.
