Job description
Company Description
Nine is Australia’s largest locally owned media company. Working at Nine, you’ll have access to a unique range of experiences and opportunities, helping drive the success of the country’s most trusted television, radio, digital and publishing brands.
Our content reaches almost every Australian - meaning what we do has real impact. We bring people together, celebrate the big moments, and capture the everyday ones.
Some of our most beloved brands have been part of Australian life for generations, and others - new on the scene - have already found their place firmly in our lives. We’re evolving and we need people like you to bring new ideas, innovate and make your mark.
Job Description
As a Senior Delivery Manager, you will be accountable for the strategic delivery of complex, high-risk products and ecosystem services. Instead of managing an isolated engineering team, you will focus on optimising the entire end-to-end delivery system and its flow of work. You will act as a primary point of escalation and strategic alignment, building and maintaining a highly collaborative environment where multi-disciplinary, specialised teams can seamlessly deliver high-impact value.
Crucially, you will serve as a mentor, coach, and professional guide to the two mid-level Delivery Managers within the team, helping to build their capabilities, support their career progression, and champion systems thinking across the wider organisation.
What you’ll do
Ecosystem Orchestration & Momentum: You will manage the delivery of large-scale strategic outcomes by coordinating and aligning work across many diverse disciplines, including Product, Engineering, Design, Security, Platform teams, third-party vendors, and highly specialised, AI-enabled micro-teams. Your role is focused on systemic orchestration rather than granular task management.
Systems Thinking & Flow Optimisation: You will map and optimise the entire end-to-end delivery system—encompassing idea intake, prioritisation, discovery, engineering delivery, release management, rollbacks, and continuous improvement. You will ensure the smooth flow of work across the entire ecosystem, prioritising genuine customer impact over individual backlog completion.
Mentorship & Capability Building: You will actively mentor, coach, and guide the two mid-level Delivery Managers in the team. You will support their professional development, help them navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, master systems thinking, and build a clear pathway for their career growth.
Governance & Programme Delivery: You will operate at a broad portfolio and programme level, including executive reporting, robust risk management, forecasting, dependency management, and active engagement with Steering Committees.
Change Leadership & Adaptability: You will role-model a resilient, highly adaptive mindset. You need to be comfortable leading teams through uncertainty and change, actively communicating organisational updates, and helping evolving structures adapt seamlessly to new, highly-specialised ways of working.
Influence over Authority: Success will depend on influencing rather than directing. Key focus areas include bringing the right people together, facilitating complex multi-stakeholder decisions, aligning goals, resolving systemic blockers, and building strong collaboration across teams without relying on top-down direction
What we’re looking for
We're seeking a strategic, forward-thinking Senior Delivery Manager passionate about orchestrating complex environments, driving continuous end-to-end system flow, and mentoring and growing other delivery professionals to achieve impactful customer and business outcomes.

Mentorship & Development: Demonstrated experience mentoring, coaching, and developing mid-level delivery professionals to elevate their capabilities, strategic thinking, and careers.
Systems Thinking: Deep understanding of Lean and Systems Thinking, with practical experience optimising entire delivery workflows (from inception to customer validation) rather than just team-level sprint metrics.
Stakeholder Mastery & Influence: Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership, facilitate complex executive decisions, and drive strategic alignment across technical and non-technical departments.
Governance & Delivery Excellence: Strong background in programme governance, risk management, executive forecasting, release management, and steering committee engagement.
AI Mindset: Comfort using modern AI productivity tools to enhance delivery effectiveness, and an openness to experimenting with how AI-augmented capabilities can accelerate value.
