Are you an experienced accounting or finance professional looking to leverage your expertise in a new and exciting way? As a Learning Experience Designer at BlackLine, you will be the subject matter expert who helps empower our customers, partners, and employees to transform their accounting processes using our industry-leading software. Your focus will be to create innovative, product-focused learning solutions for our customers and partners. You will apply your experience in accounting and finance, BlackLine products, and instructional design to create content through all project phases: planning, design, development, and delivery. In our fast-paced environment, you must be comfortable working on multiple projects across various stakeholder groups.

You'll Get To

  • Leverage your accounting or finance knowledge to develop and update engaging and practical training classes on Blackline products, including eLearning courses, videos, instructor-led training, and exams, following provided methodology.
  • Translate complex accounting principles into clear, understandable concepts within the context of our software.
  • Collaborate with our Technical Trainers, stakeholders, and other subject matter experts to ensure our training content is accurate, relevant, and impactful.
  • Follow and maintain formal project plans and tracking systems for each project in development and adhere to deadlines, including managing your projects from concept to release in conjunction with Training Leadership
  • Demonstrate a high level of writing, editing, proofreading, and formatting training materials
  • Ensure the final project deliverables are of the highest quality and positively impact learning outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships across the organization, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and customer success.
  • Stay current with accounting industry standards, implementation developments, and trends to ensure your expertise remains cutting-edge.
  • Share instructional design ideas with team members and collaborate on new models and templates.
  • On occasion, deliver content (across multiple product lines) to different audiences via classroom (public, onsite), virtual classroom, and recorded formats
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to travel 10%.

What You'll Bring

Years of Experience in Related Field: 2-4 years of hands-on experience in a corporate accounting or finance role (e.g., Accountant, Financial Analyst, Controller, Auditor) and at least 1 year of experience in technical instructional design and evaluation

Education: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent work experience
