The Opportunity As a Technical Specialist Leader, you will lead a team of experienced Technical Specialists supporting the NSW Workers Compensation (Nominal Insurer) Claims function. This role is pivotal in driving technical excellence, uplift in claims outcomes, and consistent application of legislation and policy. You will influence both team performance and broader operational capability through coaching, governance, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop a team of Technical Specialists, driving high performance and accountability Provide expert technical guidance, coaching, and oversight on complex and sensitive claims Drive consistency and compliance with NSW workers compensation legislation, policy, and internal standards Monitor and improve performance through data-driven insights, KPIs, and quality measures Support workforce planning, recruitment, and capability uplift initiatives Foster a high-engagement, inclusive team culture aligned to The Gallagher Way Identify continuous improvement opportunities to enhance customer, client, and regulatory outcomes About You Proven experience in workers compensation claims, with strong technical expertise (NI experience highly regarded) Demonstrated experience in leadership or coaching, or readiness to step into a leadership role Strong understanding of claims governance, compliance, and performance frameworks Ability to analyse performance data and implement improvement strategies Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Highly organised with strong time management and prioritisation capability Strategic, resilient, and collaborative in approach Additional Information Applicants must have the right to live and work in Australia Unsolicited agency applications will not be considered Gallagher Bassett is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and inclusion If you’re looking to step into a leadership role where you can shape technical excellence and influence outcomes at scale, we’d love to hear from you.
