The Head of Corporate Actuarial and Pricing is responsible for:• Leading management reporting and provides insights on the drivers of business results and making recommendations for management actions;
• Managing and reviewing non-financial reinsurance arrangements and optimize the usage of reinsurance by considering the trade-off between risk and return;
• Overseeing the pricing function and ensuring that product pricing is competitive, compliant, and aligned with FWD’s customer-led and digitally enabled strategy;
• Being the signatory actuary for Insurance Commission’s certification, including but not limited to product approval and annual statement;
1. Regular reporting and Business Planning
- Lead embedded value (EV), value of new business (VNB) and other KPI reporting such as expense overrun, persistency and claim experience in both regular reporting cycles and business planning
- Reinsurance administration and settlement
- Cooperate and communicate with counterparts in local office, group office, and external parties such as consultants, independent reviewers and auditors
- Present business results to senior management and group office
2. Pricing Implementation and Coordination
- Manage pricing strategy, processes, systems and product approval
- Ensure effective adoption of pricing guidelines
- Coordinate with other departments and functions to plan and implement pricing of new products and features
- Liaise with bank partners to agree features and compensation structures for new products
3. Team Management and People Development
- Develop and coach team members
- Identify potential candidates in the market to fill up vacancies in the actuarial team
Job Requirements:
Education & Certification:
- University graduate with major in Actuarial Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics or Finance
- Fellowship member of an internationally recognised actuarial professional body and Fellow of the Actuarial Society of the Philippines (FASP)
Experience:
- 15+ years life insurance experience in actuarial and/ or risk management functions
- Preferably worked in multinational life insurance company
- Deep understanding of EV, VNB and local regulatory standards
- Deep understanding of life insurance products in Philippines
- Ability to manage a team of actuarial associates and achieve results by working with and through cross-functional teams
- Highest regard for professionalism and integrity
- Effective leader and strong collaborator within and across teams
