Job description

Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking to join a supportive, fast-paced community service where you can make a real difference in people’s independence and quality of life?

We are currently recruiting for two Occupational Therapists for our client's to join the Community Occupational Therapy Team and Moving and Handling Service in Rochdale. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a friendly and well-established multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality Adult Social Care services.

What will your responsibilities be?

You will manage a varied community caseload, working with adults with physical disabilities and frailty to promote independence, safety, and wellbeing.
The role includes duty work and specialist assessments focusing on equipment provision, adaptations, and moving and handling interventions. You will be supported through regular supervision from an Advanced Practitioner.

  • Manage an allocated community Occupational Therapy caseload.
  • Undertake duty work as part of the wider team rota.
  • Complete specialist assessments within Adult Social Care settings.
  • Recommend and arrange appropriate equipment and adaptations.
  • Provide moving and handling assessments and safe practice guidance.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Support adaptation planning within service user homes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with policy and legislation.

Qualifications & Experience:

To be successful in this role you must have,

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration
  • Experience working within Community Occupational Therapy services
  • Strong knowledge of equipment provision and housing adaptations
  • Confident and competent in moving and handling practice
  • Good working knowledge of the Care Act 2014/updated legislation
  • Experience supporting adults with physical disabilities and frailty
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong assessment, communication, and organisational skills
