1.3. Key Responsibilities
- Tool Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain actuarial tools and models using various programming languages (e.g., Python, VBA, R, SQL) to automate processes, enhance data analysis, and improve reporting capabilities.
- Process Transformation: Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within actuarial functions, collaborating with actuarial teams to implement innovative solutions.
- Data Management: Work with large datasets, ensuring data integrity, efficient processing, and effective visualization for actuarial insights
.• Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing actuarial tools and applications, ensuring their smooth operation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with actuarial teams, IT, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure successful project delivery.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for developed tools and processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in coding, data science, and actuarial science to drive continuous improvement.1.4. Required Skills & Experience
- Experience: 3-4 years of professional experience in software development, programming, or data analysis roles, with a strong focus on coding and tool development
.• Programming Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in at least two of the following programming languages: Python, VBA, R, SQL.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex actuarial concepts into technical solutions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related quantitative field
.1.5. Desired Skills
- Insurance Domain Knowledge: Prior experience or strong understanding of the insurance industry, including life, general, or health insurance products and actuarial concepts.
- Actuarial Qualifications: Progress towards actuarial qualifications (e.g., IFoA, SOA, IAI) is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Data Visualization Tools: Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
- Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their services.1.6. Work Location & Model
