Job description
- Inspect, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment throughout the hotel.
- Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues, including leaks, blockages, water pressure problems, and drainage concerns.
- Install and replace pipes, valves, faucets, pumps, water heaters, and sanitary fixtures as required.
- Perform preventive maintenance on plumbing systems according to the hotel's maintenance schedule.
- Ensure proper functioning of water supply, drainage, sewage, and irrigation systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guest rooms and hotel departments.
- Minimize disruptions to hotel operations while carrying out repairs and maintenance.
- Coordinate with other Engineering team members on maintenance projects and renovations.
- Support emergency maintenance requirements on a 24-hour basis when assigned.
- Comply with all hotel safety policies, procedures, and local regulations.
- Ensure safe handling and storage of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workshops and work areas.
- Report any safety hazards or potential risks immediately to the Engineering Supervisor.
- Conduct routine inspections of plumbing systems and equipment.
- Monitor water consumption and identify opportunities for conservation.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders in a timely manner.
- Assist in implementing energy and water-saving initiatives.
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with guests and colleagues.
- Ensure all maintenance work meets Fairmont standards and contributes to a positive guest experience.
- Respond efficiently to guest concerns related to plumbing issues.
- High school diploma or technical/vocational certification in Plumbing or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of plumbing experience, preferably in a hotel, resort, or commercial facility.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, water distribution, drainage, pumps, and sanitary equipment.
- Ability to read technical drawings and maintenance manuals.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays if required.
